Has lots of character. Made access to other areas easy. Good little bistro type restaurants and bars. Most of what was good was outside the hotel.
The quality of fit out was poor. Worn out carpet, hot tap in kitchen permanently disabled. Blinds don't work and curtain rails fall off. Not sure what budget hotel should be worth but this over-priced in my view. I think the website could be more accurate in describing the quality. I was told I was up-graded. However, when I looked into another room on 1st floor, I think I was down-graded.

The Victorian style of the building was different from what I have experienced before. The room was very spacious and comfortable.
Although naturally darker because of the Victorian style, it felt as though there was an eerie presence in the room; almost as if there was a ghost or spirit amongst us.

Guess it was required but a welcome of a security door is not the best for a hotel; however if the area requires it, so be it.
